Board Member

John Brett is a passionate and experienced business leader with a deep commitment to working with sustainable brands. Throughout his career, he has been driven by the desire to make a positive impact and foster growth in the industries he serves.

For the past three years, Mr. Brett had the privilege of leading the Hotel Chocolat St Lucia business, where he played a crucial role in connecting their direction in the Caribbean with their cocoa growers’ markets worldwide, particularly in West Africa and Latin America. This experience allowed him to bridge diverse cultures and perspectives, fostering collaboration and synergy among their global stakeholders.

Before his tenure in St Lucia, Mr. Brett held leadership positions in various UK businesses involved in land management and the retail sector. During this time, he successfully built customer loyalty by prioritizing exceptional service and upholding their strong ethics and commitment to sustainability. He firmly believes that environmental and social responsibility should always go hand in hand with organizational success.

Mr. Brett is delighted to serve as a non-executive director on the Helen’s Daughters board team. Having worked closely with Helen’s Daughters during his time in St Lucia, he is truly passionate about its model, the benefits that are brought, and the dynamic approach.

Helen’s Daughters embodies the values Mr. Brett holds dear, and he is proud to contribute his expertise and support their mission. As a board member, he looks forward to advocating for sustainable practices, fostering empowerment for rural women farmers, and driving positive change at the grassroots level. Together with Helen’s Daughters, John aims to create a brighter and more equitable future for all women in the agricultural sector.
